ESA Medical Resources through its Bariatric Surgery Practice Consultants division is dedicated to achieving positive results for our clients by offering comprehensive consulting services. Our clients are not "a number" to us. We offer caring professional assistance to each client. We provide complete information pertaining to new practice start-ups and quality improvement of existing practices.

Our Team

Elizabeth J. Smith, President

Ms. Smith holds a BS degree in nursing from East Carolina University. She served as the Project Research Nurse/Program Coordinator for a large NIH grant funded research project which studied the effects of Gastric Bypass surgery on Diabetes Mellitus. Her tenure at the East Carolina University School of Medicine lasted 7 years during which time she was able to work with world renowned leaders in the bariatric surgery field. She is co-author on numerous research papers and presentations. ESA Medical Resources was founded to provide practice consultation and recruitment services.

Susan B. Coleman, Vice President

Ms. Coleman holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Duke University. She has worked in banking and finance for 12 years concentrating on market development, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. She brings an extensive management background and a strong customer focus to her role in leading an experienced, professional team of consultants who have the expertise to help practices and hospitals start a new bariatric program or enhance an existing one.

Nancy Jones, Consultant

Mrs. Jones holds a BS in Nursing from Southern Illinois University and a MBA from the Georgia State School of Business,. Prior to co-founding JW Medical in 2000, Mrs. Jones worked as a nurse & operational manager for several medical practices. As the Sr. Consultant, she specializes in strategic planning for group practice and healthcare delivery systems, startups, practice mergers, practice valuations, practice restructuring.

Mrs. Jones has 14 years of project management and practice management as it relates to healthcare, and is a Fellow of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants, serving on its education board

Dr. Kevin Huffman, Consultant

Dr. Huffman a board certified bariatric physician has over 17 years of clinical experience in obesity management. In addition to his extensive clinical experience and thorough medical studies of obesity management, Dr. Huffman has developed a keen understanding of the business of weight management through years of leadership in the commercial weight loss industry. Dr. Huffman is recognized as an expert in bariatric medicine and has taken on several leadership roles in the professional medical/surgical bariatric societies. Founder and President of AMERICAN BARIATRIC CONSULTANTS, Dr. Huffman has trained, mentored and supported physicians, surgeons and hospital staff in the art, science and business of bariatric medicine across America for over a decade.

ESA Medial Resources through our gotbariatricjobs.com division provides contingency recruitment services to the bariatric surgery field. Our staff has 20 years of healthcare research and recruiting experience. We utilize the latest technology in our recruiting efforts and have established a strong network of recruiters throughout the country who work together to meet the needs of our clients. As a contingency based firm we only receive payment upon successful placement of a job candidate. Our services are free to the job candidate.
